History of Squash Blossom Necklace and Meaning.

Squash Blossom Necklace is a prominent piece of Native American Jewelry, originated with the Navajo tribe in the late 1870's after contact with the Spanish settlers.

The sterling necklace features a cresent shape pendant called the "Naja" which has roots in Moorish and Roman designs, adopted by the Spanish before the Navajo.

The squash blossom beads are inspired by the flowering part of the native squash plant.

It is a symbol of wealth, protection and connection to nature.
