Desert Waves.
Listening to the waves crash on the shores of the ocean, I am reminded of the empty space that confronts you as you stare out into the water. On this particular day the waves were crashing restlessly over the sea wall into the streets and flooding the houses. Watching closely, I was reminded of how the desert, and the Ocean have much in common the energy pulsing through the seemingly empty space. Here I played with that empty space represented by the two lines left as blank canvas.

"The ocean's influence continues to permeate my work, washing through me as I attempt to capture its essence through abstract imagery. My creations often emerge from a blend of photographic references and vivid dreams, leading to textural paintings, sculptures and photographic works that celebrate the beauty and complexity of my experiences.

Born in Phoenix, Arizona, Leif received his Bachelor of Arts Degree with a focus on studio art in Albuquerque, New Mexico. "
