About Jennifer Medina

Jennifer Medina is an award-winning contemporary jewelry artist from Kewa (Santo Domingo) Pueblo. Growing up on the Pueblo with culture and art her entire life, she learned the craft of jewelry-making by apprenticing under her mother. With her mother’s guidance, she learned how to craft traditional handmade heishi beads and select the finest turquoise and materials while she was still a child.

Today, Medina is known for her unique style of silversmithing and handcrafting one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces with high-quality turquoise and gemstones. Working primarily in sterling silver and gold, she creates jewelry using tufa and cuttlefish casting, lapidary inlay work, stamp work and other advanced jewelry techniques. Medina’s jewelry pieces often feature innovative shapes and sculptural silhouettes, while also representing and respecting traditional elements. She has won numerous awards at Santa Fe Indian Market and the Heard Museum Indian Fair and Market in Phoenix, Arizona.
