Mr. Guzman has instructed for both private and public institutions for the past twenty-five years. He brings a wealth of information that includes the history of painting, as well as the most recent trends in modern times. Being a strong believer in the craft of painting, he is also skilled in the use of materials, bringing assurance that works are as archival as possible.
"My goals as a painter are to imbue the viewer with a sense of mystery, beauty and timelessness, to give the viewer a time out from the course of day-to-day live" Mr. Guzman's works are collected throughout the US. Collectors know him best for his plein air paintings.
"I learn something new with each painting in terms of how perception, color theory, and color chemistry work together to provide the viewer with an aesthetic experience." Mr. Guzman grew up in southern New Mexico and now resides in northern New Mexico village of Truchas with his wife Dolores.
